  4. successors may represent something quite 
  5. different, namely an extension of the planet itself, 
  6. creating a new ground for man in the sky and 
  7. calling despotically for a new equilibrium and 
  8. harmony of action and knowledge. The satellites 
  9. have as it were transformed the planet itself into a 
  10. work of art, inspiring a new need for programmes 
  11. and controls transcending all regional interests.
